The Faro de Moncloa observation deck offers superb views of the Madrid skyline from 92 metres above the ground. The former illuminated tower was designed by Madrid-born architect Salvador Pérez to commemorate Madrid’s designation as the European Capital of Culture in 1992. It stands 110 metres high.

The tower, a symbol of Madrid’s architecture, is located in Ciudad Universitaria and offers one of the best panoramic views of the capital, encompassing its most iconic buildings such as the Royal Palace, Cibeles Palace, the Telefónica building on Gran Vía and the Cuatro Torres Business Area. From there you can also see the city’s large parks and green spaces including El Retiro, Oeste and Casa de Campo parks, Monte del Pardo and the Guadarrama National Park in the distance.

Faro de Moncloa’s observation deck is a leading tourist attraction, and the tower’s base houses one of the 11 tourist information points that Madrid City Council provides for visitors to the city, where they can find out about everything the capital has to offer in the way of culture and entertainment.
