Fernán Gómez Centro Cultural de la Villa is located on the most important art route in the city, in the heart of the Paseo del Prado/Paseo de la Castellana district. The surrounding area is also home to the National Library, the Prado Museum, the Reina Sofía National Museum and Art Centre, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, the National Archaeological Museum and the Municipal Conference Centre.

The space offers a wealth of possibilities. It features two theatre halls, one of which has an adjustable layout, a large exhibition hall covering 1,500 m2, and a corridor/foyer which is an ideal supplementary venue for any event.

Its unbeatable location, versatility, facilities and large size make it a unique venue for corporate celebrations in downtown Madrid.

Spaces

Girau Hall

The Guirau Hall can hold up to 736 people, and is used as a venue for the theatre's main large-scale performances, dance and music programmes and children's shows. Its triangular stage has a proscenium measuring 22 metres wide, with a depth of 10 metres to the cyclorama and a 5-metre arch, as well as an interior stage of 4.85 m.

Dos Hall

This space can hold roughly between 174 (maximum) and 80 (minimum) people. The multipurpose design of the hall has now been increased to provide greater freedom in terms of the location of the audience and stage. The new layout, with a length of 20 metres and a width of 11 metres, allows for more than one activity to be hosted on the same day.

The recent improvements to the hall's technical specifications have boosted its soundproofing, achieving better acoustics appropriate to the new space, better lighting and sound equipment and improved storage areas for machinery, sound and lighting.

Exhibition Hall

The two thousand square metres that make up the exhibition hall are used for temporary shows of great interest to the public. The themes chosen are mainly historical and educational. In recent years an effort has been made to promote exhibitions devoted to the theatre arts.

The hall's plentiful square metres stand in contrast to its scant linear metres, allowing for great versatility in terms of putting together spaces to suit the different requirements of each exhibition. The hall is often compartmentalised, with as many as three exhibitions being shown at the same time.

Maximum capacity depending on layout: 600 people.

Interior Corridor

The interior corridor at Teatro Fernán Gómez is home to the famous map of the discovery of America, which is located behind the water curtain between the theatre and Plaza de Colón. This Corridor connects all of the theatre's spaces, including the two performance halls as well as the Exhibition Hall and the main foyer.

With a capacity for 250 people, its large size and versatility allow it to be used as a venue for any sort of performance event or as a supplementary space for events held in other rooms in the building.
