To achieve this end, it has its own promotional channels, most notably the official tourism website ( is the best web-based showcase for the destination of Madrid. It enables users to discover all of the capital’s tourist attractions and its cultural and leisure programme in nine different languages (Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Russian and Japanese). In 2017 the website set a new record, with over 21.5 million pages viewed.
