The eighteenth century Conde Duque Barracks, a historical building located right in the heart of Madrid, is now a vast 58,000-square metre cultural centre.
In the southern part of the site, Madrid Destino manages the exhibition rooms, the auditorium, the theatre and the conference room, which are the setting for a wide-ranging cultural programme of exhibitions, concerts, theatre, festivals and other activities.
In the northern half, Conde Duque houses the institutions devoted to conserving and showcasing the Madrid City Hall public archives and collections: the Archivo de la Villa, the Municipal Newspaper Library, the History Library, Victor Espinós Public Library, the Digital Library and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
